Broiled Cod with Sesame Miso Sauce

We have run out of stock for this item.

As Wozz and I go forward on our plan to eat simple clean meals, we have found that cod is a great choice for quick healthy dinners.  It's a nice flaky white fish and can be broiled, baked, thrown into curries, fish tacos, whatever really.  In this recipe, we quickly marinate the cod fillets in our Japanese Sesame Miso Dressing, put them under the broiler for a quick browning and finish in the oven on a lower heat.  Our Japanese Sesame Miso makes a tasty low sugar marinade for this recipe (only 3 g of sugar in 2 Tablespoons so it's a great Asian marinade and dressing for low carb eating).  When you broil it you won't get the caramelized brown sugary glaze color that you see in a lot of glazed cod recipes because it's not full of sugar, you will get a little bit of browning under the broiler.

Broiled Cod with Sesame Miso Sauce

Ingredients

Cod Fillets (get as many as you need - I just used one large fillet and cut into thirds but you may want to get pieces that are all the same size so cooking time is the same)
Wozz! Japanese Sesame Miso Dressing Marinade & Sauce
Black Sesame Seeds

Method

Marinade your cod fillets for 30 minutes in Wozz! Japanese Sesame Miso Dressing and Sauce.  I just use enough of the dressing to coat them.

Turn your broiler onto high heat.  Place aluminum foil on baking sheet and brush foil with oil to prevent sticking.  Place marinated cod fillets on lined baking sheet.

Place fillets under broiler and broil until a little browned on top with a few blackened spots.

Once it's browned up a little, brush your fillets with a bit of the leftover marinade or just use a little bit more of the dressing in the bottle.  Turn your oven down to 375 degrees and bake it for 5 more minutes.  (you may need a little longer if your fillets are thick) Your fish should be moist and flaky - try not to overcook it.

Remove from oven.  Serve with additional Wozz! Japanese Sesame Miso Dressing over top (cold or warm whichever you prefer) and black sesame seeds.

Serve.
