San Choy Bau, often called Asian pork lettuce wraps are light, fresh low carb and fun!! There are 100 ways to tweak this recipe and make it your own. See our Tweaks★Tips for ideas and suggestions!!

Ingredients

 2 tbsp pure toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp ginger, finely grated
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 Red pepper/capsicum diced small
1 lb/500 g pork mince (ground pork)
230 g water chestnuts, drained and roughly chopped
1 tbs ketjap manis (sweet Indonesian soy sauce)
1 tbs hoisin
2 tbs oyster sauce
3 spring onions, finely sliced
1 head iceberg lettuce, torn into lettuce cups
1/2 cup bean sprouts
Chilli, Mint, Cilantro/Coriander all optional

Recipe

1. Heat oil in a wok or skillet. Brown the garlic and pork and cook over medium heat for 6-7 minutes.
2. Add red capsicum/pepper and cook until soft before adding ginger, onions and chestnuts
3. Stir in sauces and cook for a further 2 minutes. Fold in bean sprouts last.
4. Serve in lettuce cups. Roll the filling up in the lettuce and eat like a wrap.

We always put our Thai Hot Pepper glaze, Super Hot Chilli Sambal, Miso Goji Berry dressing and Vietnamese Green Tea dressing out as condiments to add to your lettuce parcels or use as dipping sauces.
