Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders with Tomato Kasundi BBQ Sauce
There is nothing like a classic bacon cheeseburger slider for the ultimate game day food. Our Tomato Kasundi BBQ Sauce is a nice alternative to ketchup, a little more smokey and barbecue-esque in flavor with a touch of mild spice (4/10 on heat scale - very tolerable spice level). These sliders came out so good, you can go ahead and add caramelized onions to the burgers if desired and you can serve the kasundi sauce with fries on the side as well.
Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders with Tomato Kasundi BBQ Sauce (6 sliders)
Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Beef (form into 6 thick slider patties - season with salt and pepper - we used local Robie Farm ground beef )
Sliced Cheddar Cheese (we used Cabot extra sharp sliced cheddar - cut slice in half to fit slider)
Lettuce
Bacon (we used North Country Smokehouse Applewood Uncured Bacon)
Wozz! Spicy Tomato Kasundi BBQ Sauce
Pickles (we used Dietz & Watson pickle chips)
Mayonnaise
Salt & Pepper
Hamburger Slider Buns (or small split hamburger buns)
Egg Wash (1 egg beaten in bowl) to brush buns with for a little shine (add a sprinkle of Italian herbs and sesame seeds to top of buns to garnish if desired)
Method:
Cook your bacon in a skillet (or however you prefer to cook your bacon - some prefer to cook it in the oven). Remove from oil and place on paper towels and set aside.
Turn on oven to bake 350 degrees F
In a medium to large skillet, add butter to skillet and brown off the inside of your hamburger buns. Once finished, remove from pan and brush outside of your buns with egg wash and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and sesame seeds.
Transfer buns to oven, place in middle of oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until buns are slightly browned and warmed through. Remove and set aside.
In a grill pan on medium high heat, cook your patties for 4 minutes on each side. Remove, add to a baking sheet and top with 1/2 slice of cheddar. Place in oven under broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted.
Spread mayo on bottom bun, add lettuce, add cheeseburger patty, add a dollop of Wozz! Spicy Tomato Kasundi BBQ Sauce, add your bacon and top with bun. Place a pickle on top and add a cocktail toothpick to hold it all together. Serve.
Enjoy!
