Fancy Hot Dog Condiments and Toppings
We decided to fancy-up the ole' traditional hot dog and create this extravaganza of hot dog topping options! Perfect for the 4th of July, summer entertaining and BBQ parties! You can make these as displayed or just make a hot dog toppings bar...just put out all of the Wozz! condiments (all of them...lol) along with additional toppings such as raw onion, cheese, fresh greens, sliced cucumber, mayo, mustard, ketchup, pickles and let your guests decide how they want to "fancy-up" their gourmet dog.
Ingredients:
Hot Dogs
Buns
We fired up the charcoal grill for these because there is no better tasting hot dog than one that is off of an old school charcoal grill. We also grilled the buns. You can use whichever rolls or dogs you like, I used larger rolls and longer hot dogs just so all my toppings would fit nicely on top.
Fancy Hot Dog Condiment Toppings
Pickled Beet Relish and Feta Dog
Wozz! Pickled Beet Relish with Crumbled Feta Cheese and Fresh Greens (we used baby arugula and beet greens)
Thai Orange Relish Banh Mi Dog
Wozz! Thai Orange Ginger Relish with thinly sliced cucumber ribbons, mayonnaise and fresh cilantro
Traditional Ketchup Mustard Dog with a Global Twist
Wozz! Spicy Tomato Kasundi BBQ Sauce (which is a cross between a globally inspired ketchup and smokey BBQ sauce) with traditional yellow mustard and fresh chopped white onion. Your classic hot dog toppings with a little extra flair!
Corn Relish Dog
We use Wozz! Green Tomato Jalapeno Pepper Jelly to make a corn relish (recipe here). Spoon corn relish over your hot dog along with crumbled Mexican cotija cheese.
Gourmet Pineapple Chutney Dog
Let's bring some Island vibes to this hot dog extravaganza. Wozz! Jamaican Jerk Pineapple Chutney with a lime crema, fresh mint and cilantro.
To Make Lime Crema: 1 Tbs Mayo + 1 Tbs Sour Cream + Squeeze of 1/2 Fresh Lime
Mix together in a small bowl.
Sweet Chili Slaw Dog
Coleslaw coated with Wozz! Sweet Chili Orange Sesame Sauce + Mayo + Squeeze of Fresh Lime
1/2 Cup Mayo
3 Tbs Wozz! Sweet Chili Orange Sesame Sauce
Wedge of fresh lime squeezed
Season with salt and pepper
Add to a pre-shredded bag of coleslaw mix or shred your own cabbage (I used napa cabbage from the garden - but any cabbage mix will work).
The ratios of mayo to sweet chili orange sesame sauce can be adjusted to your taste. This should coat 1 bag of slaw (about 5-6 cups of cabbage) Add more or less sweet chili mayo dressing as needed.
So many hot dog options!
You can also try a hot dog with Wozz! Triple Ale Onion Spread with a little Dijonnaise and pickled banana peppers, a Wozz! Mango Chutney dog with creamy coleslaw or a Wozz! Korean BBQ sauce dog with pickled cucumbers and mayo. The options are endless! :)
