Cherries and goats cheese make a wonderful pairing especially during the holiday season. Our Sour Cherry Spiced Wine Compote is full of glistening whole cherries in a balsamic red wine jam compote with aromatic spices including cinnamon. It's delicious paired with this goats cheese crostini and it's such an easy appetizer to make for a party or get together.
Crostini with Sour Cherry Compote and Goats Cheese
Ingredients:
French Baguette - sliced into 1/2 inch thick slices
Olive Oil
Salt Pepper
Goat Cheese - I used Vermont Creamery Spreadable Goats Cheese (if you have regular goats cheese and want to make it a bit more spreadable just whip it together with a little splash of milk)
Cracked Black Pepper
Honey (to drizzle over if desired)
Wozz! Sour Cherry Spiced Wine Fruit Compote
Recipe:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Brush both sides of baguette slices with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper, place crostini on baking sheet and bake for approximately 8-10 minutes or just until golden brown turning once. Careful not to burn.
Once crostini is nice and golden, remove from oven and top with goats cheese, Wozz! Sour Cherry Spiced Wine Compote, a drizzle of honey (if desired) and cracked black pepper.
